MIMIC-III_Matching subject ID & Lab normal range

1. Can I match subject IDs between each data set (e.g., prescription, diagnosis, lab event, etc.)? Also, can I match the dates between each data set so that if they are the same, they are interpreted as being performed on the same date?

2. Can I know the normal laboratory values for MIMIC III? I specifically need AST, ALT, ALP, total bilirubin, and direct bilirubin levels.

Yes. Subject ID will match, and the dates will be consistent within a subject ID. So if subject_id=1 had a lab on 2150-01-01 and a prescription on 2150-01-02, then that prescription did occur 1 day after the lab measurement. However dates are not kept consistent for different subject_id. If two distinct subject_id have a measurement both on 2150-01-01, these measurements do not necessarily occur on the same day (and there is an extremely high likelihood that they do not occur on the same day).

We don't have that information in MIMIC-III, but it's in MIMIC-IV. Lab reference ranges do change over time though, so you can't necessarily carry them backward.
