Search on website is not able to search for AsyncHTTPTransport

I searched for AsyncHTTPTransport, and got no results surprisingly.

The term is indexed, just not as a word on its own. The docs mention it only once, as httpx.AsyncHTTPTransport (in Async Support → Explicit transport instances), and the site's search index splits words only on whitespace and hyphens. You can see it in /search/search_index.json:

"separator": "[\\s\\-]+"

So the indexed token is httpx.asynchttptransport. Searching AsyncHTTPTransport looks for a token starting with that, which doesn't exist.

Workaround for now: search for httpx.AsyncHTTPTransport and you get the page.

Fix: mkdocs.yml doesn't configure the search plugin, so it uses Material's default separator. Adding the dot fixes it:

I checked this by rebuilding the index from the live search_index.json with lunr 2.3.9: AsyncHTTPTransport returns nothing with the current separator and finds async/#explicit-transport-instances once . is added. It would also make httpx.Client, httpx.Timeout and the like findable by class name. (A plugins: block replaces the default list, but the default is only search, so nothing else is lost.)
