Feature Request: Split panes ( dual panes for multiple files at same time)

Expected behaviour
Xed to have dual pane line kdevelope
this will help a lot with source editing

A similar feature is available on kDevelope but it being qt application doesn't integrate well with mint

Very Handy Feature. This is the only reason I switched from beautiful and lightweight xed to vs code :(
I need to edit same file on different line at the same time and gedit stupid core asking me everytime do I need to reload? and everytime it reload it reset the line number to zero.
So frustrating

Hi all. I published a drop-in Xed plugin that adds a split pane workflow (dual panes).

xed-split-pane: a split workflow for Xed (Linux Mint); keeps a pinned editor pane on the LEFT and the normal tabbed editor on the RIGHT (Geany-like).

• The LEFT pane stays pinned while you switch tabs on the RIGHT.
• Click the left filename to choose another open tab to pin (pinned entry is bold).
• The chooser lists full paths (useful when files share the same name).

Toggle split via:

• Hotkey: Ctrl+Alt+P
• View → Toggle Split Pane
• Click "Toggle Split Pane" on the status bar (right side)

Install (no rebuild):

mkdir -p ~/.local/share/xed/plugins/
cp -r xed-split-pane ~/.local/share/xed/plugins/

Enable in Edit → Preferences → Plugins → Xed Split Pane.
