Full-stack TypeScript/React Boilerplate for 2026

Hey Vite team and community

We just published the 2026 Boilerplate, a production-ready full-stack TypeScript/React starter, and Vite is at the heart of it. We wanted to stop by and say thank you.

After years of wrangling Webpack configs, moving to Vite was genuinely liberating. The near-instant dev server startup, HMR that actually works, and the clean configuration story made a huge difference to our developer experience. We also use vite-express to run Vite's dev server alongside our Express backend in a single process, which turned out to be a really elegant pattern for full-stack development.

The boilerplate includes:

• Full-stack TypeScript (React 19 + Express via vite-express)
• Lazy-loaded routes, Redux Toolkit, Chakra UI, Passport auth
• Cypress E2E, ESLint, i18n, accessibility, dark mode

Vite is usually blazingly fast, but issues like this often crop up around dependency pre-bundling or rollup configurations.

1. Pre-bundling: Try deleting your node_modules/.vite cache and running npm run dev -- --force to make Vite rebuild the dependencies.
2. Externalizing Modules: If you are seeing issues where built-in node modules (like "stream" or "path") are breaking, it is because Vite is primarily a frontend build tool. You might need to add polyfills via vite-plugin-node-polyfills or explicitly externalize it in build.rollupOptions.external.

Let me know if clearing the Vite cache or tweaking the Rollup config gets you past this hurdle.
