Problem

Describe the user-visible or engineering problem.

Changes

Describe the implementation and compatibility impact.

Validation

  • ESP-IDF v5.5.2 build completed for affected board profiles
  • Firmware size checked
  • Real hardware checked when platform behavior changed
  • Documentation and changelog updated
  • No credentials, generated configuration, or unapproved third-party artifacts added
  • Dependency revisions and license notices updated when applicable

Move the 7 KiB LVGL task stack to PSRAM and require external stack support
in the CoreS3 board profile. Limit the project DVP DMA setting to 8192
bytes and log DMA free memory and the largest contiguous block at startup.

Extend host fault injection for stack allocation, readiness timeout,
retryable cleanup, repeated attachment and pending display DMA callbacks.
Update the memory documentation and validation matrix.

Validation: CoreS3 video zh-CN and en-US ESP-IDF v5.5.2 builds and size
checks; CoreS3 and ST7789 host tests with UBSan; formatting, SPDX and
whitespace checks. ASan was unavailable because the host runtime crashed
even for a minimal program.

A user-provided device log confirms DVP initialization and stream startup
with an 11776-byte largest DMA block. Frame upload and repeated lifecycle
and audio/UI regressions still require real-device validation.
fix(cores3): preserve internal DMA memory for camera startup
Move the CoreS3 LVGL task stack to PSRAM, reduce the video DMA buffer allocation, and add startup diagnostics for internal DMA memory.
