reason: the venue (中日ホール&カンファレンス) is in Naka-ku, Nagoya, not Tokai city

Critic: accept both, no flags. The 2024 location pin still holds the
old Tokai-city coordinates (35.044082, 136.90902); left for the maintainer.

- cfp: '2026-10-26 23:59:00' -> '2026-10-27 04:59:00'
Re-expressed from AoE into America/Los_Angeles at the same instant
(AGENTS.md "Deadline conflicts" 4): the entry carries timezone
America/Los_Angeles, but cfp still held its AoE wall-clock value.
  $ python utils/convert_deadline.py "2026-10-26 23:59:00" --from AoE --to America/Los_Angeles
  2026-10-27 04:59:00

quote: "CFP Closes: October 26, 2026 Anywhere on Earth (UTC -12:00)"
  anchor: cfp_link
cfp_ext '2026-11-09 05:00:00' America/Los_Angeles already matches pretalx:
"Submissions close on 2026-11-09 05:00 (America/Los_Angeles)".

Critic: accept. Flags: sources-disagree: pretalx enforces 2026-11-09 05:00
America/Los_Angeles, while the timeline on the same page and the site say
"CFP Closes (Extended): November 9, 2026 Anywhere on Earth (UTC -12:00)".
Before the extension pretalx enforced 2026-10-26 05:00 America/Los_Angeles
(changedetection only; no fetchable primary source states it now).

Scope note: the 2026 CfP lists no Python track (2025 had "AI/Python").

Desk: Python Tests is red on 1453f55, and the failure is not caused by this PR's data.

The failing test is tests/test_integration_comprehensive.py::TestDataIntegrityE2E::test_conference_lifecycle_tracking:

ValidationError: 1 validation error for Conference
Value error, Are you sure this is a multi-year conference?

The test builds its own "Active Conference" with start = today + 60 days and end = today + 63 days. On 2026-10-31 that gives 2026-12-30 to 2027-01-02. The range crosses a year boundary, so the schema's multi-year check rejects it. The test therefore fails on any branch whenever CI runs during the few days a year that put that range across New Year (about 30 Oct to 2 Nov), main included.

This PR touches only _data/ files: nothing under tests/ or utils/ differs from main. The desk may not change tests, so no fix is pushed here. The fix is in the test: keep the synthetic dates inside one year, or derive year from start. I could not re-run the job from the desk.

PyCon Panamá 2025 16–17 Oct 2025 Panama City as historic data please.
Black Python Devs Leadership Summit 2026, 2027 has been renamed..
Web Summer Camp 2026 does not seem in scope.
PyCon Arewa: Leave the series out until a working official site appears, and put both domains on the denylist.
Python Developer Day 2026 (Bangkok): https://www.eventpop.me/e/167172/python-dev-day- seems fine. Let's ignore the AI agent instruction injection.

Desk: replying to #522 (comment)

  • PyCon Panamá 2025: now a worklist item. The desk is rebuilding the edition (16–17 Oct 2025, Panama City) with sources, for the critic.
  • Black Python Devs Leadership Summit 2026, 2027: settled. The sort on main (chore: sort conferences #523) renamed both entries to "Python Community Leadership Summit" (alt_name "Black Python Devs Leadership Summit"), and this branch has merged it. The line comes off the needs list.
  • Web Summer Camp 2026: the desk never deletes entries (AGENTS.md, "Complete data"), so taking it off the list is left to you. Two ways: remove the 2026 entry by hand, or tell me you want it marked some other way. The 2025 entry, which had an "AI/Python" track, stays.
  • PyCon Arewa: left out, as you asked. utils/tidy_conf/data/denylist.yml is outside the files the desk may change, so the two domains are for you to add: pythonhausa.org (the root serves gambling spam and /pyconarewa returns 404) and pythonkatsina.org (gambling spam). Both would fit under review or reject, as you prefer.
  • Python Developer Day 2026 (Bangkok): now a worklist item, with the Eventpop page as the second source. Text from the CfP pages is treated as data and nothing in it is followed. The critic still screens it before it is added.

"Python Developer Day 2026 (Bangkok): https://www.eventpop.me/e/167172/python-dev-day- seems fine."
Second primary source: the Eventpop listing (403 to agents), text relayed by the maintainer:
"Python Developer Day โดย PyCon Thailand" / "30 Aug 2026 at 13:00 - 18:00" / "SCBX NEXT TECH, ชั้น 4 ศูนย์การค้า Siam Paragon" / "Bangkok, Thailand"

  cfp 2026-08-10 23:59:00: "Call closes at 11:59 PM" / "10 Aug 2026"
timezone Asia/Bangkok: "Call closes in SE Asia Standard Time (UTC+07:00) timezone."
place Bangkok, Thailand: "SCBX NEXT TECH, 4th Fl., Siam Paragon Bangkok, Thailand"
link: the Sessionize page (cfp_link dropped by the sort as equal to link)
  sub: PY

place Bangkok, Thailand; sub PY: "organized by volunteers from PyCon Thailand and communities"
location: added by the sort.

Critic: accept (both). Flags: no-coc; sources-disagree (2026): platform close 10 Aug 2026 vs the
description's "before 7 August 2026, 23:59" on the same page; cfp follows the platform's close field.

Routine review

1. Request

The rolling desk PR (no linked issue). It carries 21 desk commits from 2026-10-31 to 2026-11-02, each a filled or corrected edition in _data/conferences.yml / _data/archive.yml: EuroSciPy 2026, Python Niger 2024, PyData Global 2026/2025, Pytorch Day China 2026, PyCon Indonesia 2025 (new), PyCon mini Tokai 2025/2024, PyCon Pakistan 2024, PyCascades 2027, Web Summer Camp 2026/2025, PyCon Tanzania 2026/2024/2021/2020, PyCon Panamá 2026/2024, BelPy 2021, DjangoCon US 2026, PyCon Ghana 2022, PyData Amsterdam 2026, PyData Vermont 2024, PyData Virginia 2025, import_ bengaluru 2026 (new), PyCon Panamá 2025 (new) and Python Developer Day 2026 and 2024 (new). On top of these is your own commit c425de4 "Delete Web Summer Camp 2026 entry".

2. Checked against

  • Date: Mon Nov 2 13:00:13 UTC 2026 (date).
  • No external page could be fetched. This sandbox's network policy refuses every conference host: curl returned CONNECT tunnel failed, response 403, and WebFetch returned ENOTFOUND for pretalx.com, sessionize.com, pycon.tz, pycon.pa and 2025.pycon.id. So I did not run the REVIEW.md check that fetches link/cfp_link and compares them with the data. Every value in this PR is unverified by this review. I checked each value only against the URL and quote in its commit message:
    • unverified: PyCon Tanzania 2026 is 25–27 Nov 2026 and its CfP closes 1 Nov 2026 23:59 EAT (pycon.tz, pycon.tz/call-for-proposals/, per 591005c)
    • unverified: PyCon Tanzania 2024 is 3–4 Dec 2024, 2020 is 14–15 Dec 2020, and 2021 was held in Arusha (pycon.tz/{2024,2020,2021}/event/, per 591005c)
    • unverified: Pytorch Day China's CfP closes 10 Nov 2026 23:59 CST (lfopensource.cn and Sessionize, per c0c3926)
    • unverified: PyCascades 2027's original CfP closed "October 26, 2026 Anywhere on Earth" (pretalx, per 7e4317b)
    • unverified: dates, places and deadlines of the new entries import_ bengaluru 2026, PyCon Indonesia 2025, PyCon Panamá 2025 and Python Developer Day 2026/2024, and PyCon Panamá 2026 cfp_ext 20 Sep

3. Needs your decision

  1. Web Summer Camp, the rest of the series. c425de4 removes the 2026 entry as you asked, so the open "Needs you" item can be ticked. But Web Summer Camp 2025 is still in _data/archive.yml:2271, and this PR fills four more fields on it (cfp_link, timezone, coc, twitter, from 1c52b3f). If the series is out of scope, the 2025 entry is out of scope too. The desk will keep visiting the series while any edition remains. Recommendation: remove 2025 in this PR as well, and add the series to rejections.yml/denylist (your files) so the scouter does not propose it again. If you only meant 2026, keep 2025 as it is.

4. Findings

Important: None.

Nits:

  • _data/archive.yml:3044 / :3052-3054: PyCon Mini Tokai 2024 place changes from Tokai to Nagoya, Japan, but the location pin keeps the Tokai-city coordinates (35.044082, 136.90902). The map will show the edition about 15 km off. The desk flagged this. The smallest fix is to remove the location block so the sort re-geocodes it.
  • _data/conferences.yml:234: PyCascades 2027 cfp is re-expressed from AoE to 2026-10-27 04:59:00 America/Los_Angeles. The commit message itself says pretalx (the anchored cfp_link) enforced 2026-10-26 05:00 America/Los_Angeles before the extension. Under AGENTS.md "Deadline conflicts" 2, the platform wins for cfp. The desk kept the prose value only because no page it could fetch still states the platform's value, which is reasonable. The deadline has passed, so this only affects the historical record.

5. Tests

No Python, JS or test files change, so there is no invariant test to expect. The data check REVIEW.md asks for is the relevant one:

uv run --python 3.11 --with "pandas<2.3",pyyaml,pydantic,pytz,thefuzz,iso3166,icalendar,tqdm,requests python utils/sort_yaml.py --skip_links
✅ 1261 conferences passed validation
📊 Split results: 50 active, 25 TBA, 634 expired, 552 legacy
🎉 Conference data sorting and cleaning completed successfully
exit=0
git diff --stat -- _data → (empty: the post-merge sort will rewrite nothing)

The routine's default checks (no pyproject.toml/uv.lock, so the npm route):

npm ci → exit 0
npm test → Test Suites: 15 passed, 15 total
             Tests: 423 passed, 423 total

I did not run pytest or ruff, because neither utils/ nor tests/ changes.

6. Bounds

  • Route: I cloned the repo, fetched refs/pull/522/head, and confirmed rev-parse = c425de4b66c461d284bfeae6e913b29a46df7a64. I took the diff from the REST API (432 lines) and cross-checked it with git diff origin/main...HEAD (2 files, +153/−55).
  • Read in full: the whole diff; the commit messages for 7e4317b, 591005c, 1535461 and c0c3926; and REVIEW.md, CONTRIBUTING.md and AGENTS.md from main. I skimmed the other commit messages through their PR-body summaries.
  • Duplicate check: I grepped all three data files and titles.yml for import_/Bengaluru, Python Developer Day, PyCon Indonesia/PyCon ID and PyCon Panamá. Each new entry is the only one for its (series, year). PyCon Asia Pacific 2024 carries alt_name: PyCon Indonesia for a different year, so there is no clash.
  • Could not run: the fetch-and-compare check against conference sites (network policy, see section 2).
  • Pre-existing: PyCon Tanzania 2026 sponsor: https://pycon.or.tz/sponsor/ now leads to a 404, according to 591005c. The desk left it as is because the rules forbid it to drop a value. It needs a by-hand fix or a replacement URL.
