CS4.22 Cloudstack usage module

problem

I am unable to select a range with previous days.
Also there is no /etc/init.d/cloustack-usage
I can see on the UI only today's traffic when I select Metrics for a VM, no matter what range I select.
And the UI still shows the GMT

Settings:
enable.usage.server = true
usage.execution.timezone = America/New_York
usage.stats.job.exec.time = 07:00
usage.stats.job.aggregation.range = 1440

No matter what range I select still show only for a range of the day.

The steps to reproduce the bug

1. Enable CS usage, configure it using the UI
   2.Settings:
   enable.usage.server = true
   usage.execution.timezone = America/New_York
   usage.stats.job.exec.time = 07:00
   usage.stats.job.aggregation.range = 1440
2. after several days the UIS shows the metrics but only for the day independently of the date range you select. and shows always in GMT

I'm not sure that the usage server has any relation to these metrics at all, but I can confirm the same behavior with the metrics on 4.20. I'll also add that in the custom tab I see strange behavior:

if /etc/init.d/cloustack-usage is not present that would indicate that the user server is not installed.

Metrics and usage are not related, though they take some of their input from the same source. The vars described do nothing for metrics, these are usage only.

@DaanHoogland But what about the display behavior of metrics when selecting time intervals? It looks like a UI bug. Should we open a separate issue for this?

@SviridoffA , if it is still present on 4.20-/4.22-head, yes. Have a quick search though I remember related work being done (@sudo87 ?)

@DaanHoogland I am opening a bug for the Metrics UI. But still seems there is Something estrange happening with usage module.

Maybe a bug with the installation software, and the UI.

Independently of the date-range selection - I did try small periods, large periods and all available data as shown on the picture at the beginning of this bug/discussion - only shows the last 10 hours, and only GMT. It's like is hardcoded somewhere.

@tatay188 , the picture you are showing is about metrics-history, not about usage. The variables you mention do not pertain to that. For settings on metrics search for vm.stats.
The selection should however change (at least for smaller periods). I think you are talking about several issues at the same time.

The init.d script missing could indeed be a install script issue. Which MS platform are we talking about?

@tatay188 Based on the outputs you shared, the CloudStack usage service is managed by systemd on this host.
On systemd-based distributions, legacy SysV init scripts are not used, so /etc/init.d/cloudstack-usage is not expected to exist.
The service should instead be managed via systemctl (e.g., systemctl status cloudstack-usage).

@tatay188 Also, to change the GMT zone, have you tried changing time zone for your user in the profile settings in the UI?

In the profile settings is set as EAST, but the Metrics stills shows as GMT

I have moved data display issues and the time range selection bugs into separate issue #12309. Just to ensure they are not will be lost.
In this discussion, we are still have incorrect time zone display problem. I am currently unable to reproduce this on my env, so let's keep this problem here.

Thank you @SviridoffA yes updated the parameter on the configuration and i cna show a longer period of time for the metrics. The only par missing is the time GMT versus EST or the time we decide to use.
