Summary

Upgrade Syncthing from 2.1.1 to 2.1.7 in the Olares app syncthing, chart version 1.0.2 -> 1.0.3.

Changes (6 files, +24 −6)

File Change
Chart.yaml version: 1.0.2 -> 1.0.3, appVersion: 2.1.1 -> 2.1.7
OlaresManifest.yaml metadata.version -> 1.0.3, spec.versionName -> 2.1.7, add upgradeDescription
i18n/en-US + i18n/zh-CN add upgradeDescription
values.yaml tag: 2.1.1 -> 2.1.7
templates/syncthing.yaml hardcoded :2.1.1 -> :2.1.7

The image tag is hardcoded in the template without a leading v (syncthing/syncthing:2.1.7) — deliberately not copied from the GitHub tag v2.1.7, since that form does not exist on the registry. values.yaml was bumped too.

What 2.1.7 contains

Built with Go 1.27.3. Bugfix release, no breaking change announced:

  • fix: handle missing max-sequence file entries
  • fix(sqlite): avoid early garbage collection of deleted receive-encrypted files
  • fix(sqlite): do not generate unbounded prepared statements
  • fix(discover): skip unnecessary identical global announce updates, obey retry-after
  • fix(protocol): convert panics on bad data into protocol errors
  • fix(model): verify local change before applying the metadata shortcut (#10924)
  • fix(model): ensure parent ownership is copied properly (#8399)
  • fix(model): compare blocks correctly when reconciling receive-only folders (#10928)
  • Incoming protocol messages are now validated with protovalidate and reasonable limits

Verification

  • docker.io/syncthing/syncthing:2.1.7 exists — confirmed in the registry tag list (228 tags).
  • Version fields consistent: Chart.yaml:version = metadata.version = 1.0.3; Chart.yaml:appVersion = spec.versionName = image tag = 2.1.7.
  • upgradeDescription added to all three manifests with identical structure (5 entries each).
  • git diff --check clean; diff limited to the 6 files above.
  • Single GPG-signed commit on top of upstream/main (9fe20f45), no merge commit.

- chart version 1.0.2 -> 1.0.3; appVersion / versionName / image tag -> 2.1.7
- the image tag is hardcoded without a leading v in templates/syncthing.yaml:22;
  values.yaml tag also bumped to keep them in sync
- verified docker.io/syncthing/syncthing:2.1.7 exists in the registry
- 2.1.7 is a bugfix release built with Go 1.27.3: max-sequence entries, sqlite
  early GC of deleted recv-enc files, unbounded prepared statements, discovery
  retry-after, protocol panics, and three model fixes (metadata shortcut, parent
  ownership, receive-only block comparison). Incoming messages now validated.
- add upgradeDescription (root + en-US + zh-CN); the app had none before
- no config or database change; existing volumes reused as-is

Chart invalid. Error message: [GitBot could not validate metadata.icon at https://cdn.olares.cn/images/2026/07/05/de7cd22ea032c8809ba6bccc0d50598f.cropped-1783235320971.png: safefetch: get https://cdn.olares.cn/images/2026/07/05/de7cd22ea032c8809ba6bccc0d50598f.cropped-1783235320971.png: Get "https://cdn.olares.cn/images/2026/07/05/de7cd22ea032c8809ba6bccc0d50598f.cropped-1783235320971.png": net/http: TLS handshake timeout]

Reopening to re-run the GitBot check. The previous failure was a transient network error on the bot side, not a chart problem: it could not fetch metadata.icon (TLS handshake timeout to cdn.olares.cn). That same URL returns HTTP 200 right now, the icon line is unchanged in this PR, and the only edits are the version fields plus upgradeDescription.
