Summary

Fix high severity security issue in index.js.

Vulnerability

Field Value
ID V-001
Severity HIGH
Scanner multi_agent_ai
Rule V-001
File index.js:42
Assessment Likely exploitable
Chain Complexity 2-step

Description: The deleteHeapSnapshot() and deleteCpuProfile() methods accept arbitrary file paths without validation. The snapshotPath and cpuProfilePath parameters are passed directly to the native implementation without sanitization, allowing deletion of arbitrary files if an attacker can control the path argument.

Evidence

Exploitation scenario: An attacker who can invoke the deletion functions with a controlled path argument could provide '../../../etc/critical_file' or '../../.ssh/id_rsa' to delete arbitrary files on the system.

Scanner confirmation: multi_agent_ai rule V-001 flagged this pattern.

Production code: This file is in the production codebase, not test-only code.

Threat Model Context

This is a Node.js library - vulnerabilities affect downstream consumers who use this package.

Changes
