Description

Add a dedicated coinbase-chatgpt-vX.Y.Z distribution, following the existing per-client packaging pattern. Keep OpenAI public-directory listing requirements separate from portable, Claude Code, and Codex packages.

  • Add src/plugins/chatgpt/plugin.json under the Finance category, with Coinbase website, support, privacy, and terms URLs and a subtitle within the 30-character limit.
  • Describe ChatGPT access exclusively through remote MCP with OAuth; omit local CLI access from listing descriptions and keywords.
  • Reuse the canonical skills, portable MCP configuration, and icon artwork; declare 64×64 SVG dimensions only in the generated ChatGPT package, preserving artwork attribution.
  • Generate ZIP/tar archives, checksums, download links, and release metadata for the fourth distribution.
  • Add ten regression tests and CI/schema checks; document the submission and policy work that remains.
  • Preserve all six existing portable, Claude, and Codex archives byte-for-byte.

Change type

  • Harness integration or metadata
  • Skill workflow
  • Bug fix
  • Documentation
  • Breaking change (describe migration)

Validation

Passed locally:

  • python3 -m unittest discover -s tests -v — ten tests passed.
  • Ruff 0.13.2 lint and formatting checks for the builder and tests.
  • check-jsonschema 0.34.1 against the portable and ChatGPT manifests and shared MCP configuration.
  • Full four-distribution build; all eight archive checksums verified.
  • All six pre-existing archives compared byte-for-byte against the original builder.
  • git diff --check.

Native harness checks not run: ChatGPT/Codex/Claude loading, OAuth connection, authenticated MCP calls, and OpenAI portal scans/review/submission. No financial actions were executed.

  • Generated portable manifest and MCP config validate against the vendored Agent Plugins schemas
  • Package paths and skill references remain inside each generated plugin root
  • Marketplace, skills, MCP, and icon paths are valid
  • Exactly one canonical skill library; generated copies are not committed
  • Claude compatibility metadata/endpoint and marketplace sources agree with the portable package
  • Tool schemas, authorization, and retry behavior reviewed
  • README and changelog updated; versions consistent
  • No unapproved disclosures or sensitive data
  • Signed commits

Release considerations

Draft packaging change only; no plugin has been submitted to OpenAI or published by this change.

  • Resolve directory-policy conflicts before submission: the shared skills and MCP integration still describe or expose trading, transfers, and paid research. A separate manifest does not restrict the server's exposed tools.
  • Complete publisher/domain verification, approved OAuth access, automated scans, reviewer access, five positive and three negative test cases, and a demo recording.
  • Obtain branding, security, licensing, release, and client-support approvals. Native client behavior and authenticated connectivity remain unverified.
  • Merging to main runs the existing GitHub Pages workflow and publishes the generated download artifacts; this is separate from OpenAI directory approval and publication.

Isolate ChatGPT directory metadata and icon sizing while reusing the canonical skills, MCP configuration, and artwork. Add distribution regression tests and CI validation without changing existing archives.
