Description

.NET 9 for Android reached end of support on May 12, 2026.

Mobile workload support follows the .NET MAUI support policy, which explicitly encompasses the Android SDK. The .NET runtime's LTS/STS support windows do not apply to these mobile workloads. Although the .NET 9 runtime remains supported until November 10, 2026, that does not extend support for .NET 9 for Android.

We recommend updating to .NET 10 for Android, which is currently supported until May 11, 2027, according to the .NET MAUI support policy. Major mobile workload releases receive support for a minimum of six months after their successor ships.

This repository has been deploying NuGet packages with:

• net9.0-android
• net10.0-android

In the near future, the NuGet packages built in this repository will stop supporting the net9.0-android target framework and target only net10.0-android (Android API 36).

The proposed change is in #1560, which is currently open.

If you want to continue using .NET 9 for Android, you can keep using existing compatible versions of AndroidX, Google Play Services, or other packages produced by this repository, but you will no longer be able to update to new versions once .NET 9 support is removed.

If you are already using net10.0-android in your project, no action is needed!
